Job Description:
Airframe Department in Airbus India is looking for a Design Engineer for Airbus Helicopter activities, Job scope and skills required are detailed below.
Main Activities:
- Overall design of aircraft components using design, Tolerancing, Basic Stress, Manufacturability and composite materials knowledge.
- Design of metallic & composite structure for test and repair purpose, within configuration management.
- Transfer of 3D installation and architecture studies into a detailed serial 3D models Single part design (2D DWG are to be superseded by annotations etc. in 3D models) with associated information generation (e.g. BoM in Windchill) and Installation Studies and Tooling studies
- Generation of associated 2D drawing and associated information (e.g. BOM) within VPM ECG envi-ronment
- Reverse Engineering activities (establish 3D DM, 2D of existing equipment / H/C)
- Technical document preparation (ECP, cover sheet, TN, .)
- Implementation of opportunities (e.g. weight saving) into STD2 design
Require competencies in any of one below:
- Surface design and sheet metal design & Composite Design workbench (CPD) ply-based (Catia V5)
- Machining part design and Design of Composite parts
- Manufacturing process knowledge & Composite Materials & Techniques
- Helicopter Function, Operation& Processes
- Knowledge of configuration and change processes (3F rules, AMS, ECP, DML, AMO, FEE, RR, ACI).
- Helicopter Configurations and Configuration Management Processes
- Properties & Applications of Metallic Materials & Technologies
Tools: Catia V5 R21, PDM and VPM tools specific to Airbus Helicopter
Required Domain Expertise (skills):
- Graduate/Post Graduate Engineer (Aerospace Engineering / Mechanical Engineering)
- Experienced in Helicopter structure design in detail, having 3D modelling and design background on aero structures, exposed to machining concepts and sheet metal design, manufacturability of aero components and hands on experience on installation and retrofit solutions.
Soft skills:
- Ability to work independently & in a team in a transnational environment
- Ability to communicate effectively (oral, writing & presentation)
- Flexibility & adaptability
